Just because something’s low rent doesn’t mean it’s not fabulous.
James Corden just put on a production of Beauty and the Beast in the middle of a Beverly Hills street, and the combination of a superstar cast with extremely cheap costumes is absolutely perfect.
In addition to a company of actors, Corden brought in a little help for his ‘Crosswalk’ production: Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, and Josh Gad, who play Gaston, Beast, and LeFou respectively in the live-action remake of the original film.
The stars play all the same roles they do in the movie (in much more ‘economical’ costumes), although Gad gets the added title of Lumiere, and Corden claims the role of Belle for himself – Emma Watson mustn't have been unavailable.
Gad’s commentary on the entire spectacle is one of the best parts, especially when he says, “Who wants to do it in front of millions of people in a film, when you can do it in front of half a dozen Lyft and Uber drivers?”
There’s acting, there’s slapping, and there’s even a man kiss. Carve 10 minutes out of your day and watch this -- you won’t regret it!
