It's time to praise the TV gods, as another one of our favorite TV shows is having a reboot! Popular home improvement reality series, Trading Spaces, is getting a new coat of paint from the TLC execs. And no, this is not a drill!
Deadline reports that Trading Spaces is officially part of TLC's 2017-2018 programming lineup.
“TLC is back into home and property with Nate & Jeremiah By Design, our new show helping distressed homeowners turn disasters into dream homes” said TLC President and General Manager Nancy Daniels. “We are thrilled to expand in this space, and what better way to do that than to bring back Trading Spaces, the series that put property on the map.”
Indeed! It brought out the interior designers in all of us.
In case you're unfamiliar with the show, or somehow have forgotten about it during the 10-year hiatus, Trading Spaces features two sets of neighbors, swapping keys to redecorate one room in each other's houses with just $1000 and a bit of help from interior designers. The neighbors had 48 hours to finish the redecoration. The end products were sometimes jaw-dropping, other times disappointing, but without a doubt always interesting!
The original Trading Spaces ran from 2000 to 2008, with Paige Davis as the host, with frequent appearances from interior designers and carpenters like Ty Pennington and Vern Yip.
At the moment, there are still no details as to how the reboot will go about. Will Paige Davis make a return? Will the budget still be $1000? Is it going to be another spinoff like Trading Spaces: Boys vs Girls?
But fans are definitely excited once news of the comeback broke out:
2018 can't come soon enough!
